La Cornue has hand-built French ranges since 1908, and in the US it sells only cooking equipment: the made-to-order Château range family with vaulted ovens, the CornuFé range, and a small set of hoods built to sit over them. There is no La Cornue refrigeration, dish care or laundry line in the US, so every maintenance visit to this brand is a kitchen-hood or range job. La Cornue's US upkeep is entirely a cooking-appliance job: the Château and CornuFé ranges, their induction or gas cooking surfaces, and the Château and CornuFé hoods built to match them. ### One catalog, built to order Every Château leaves the factory configured to a buyer's choice of fuel and cooktop layout, so a maintenance visit starts from the rating plate rather than a standard model number. ### Hoods count their own running hours La Cornue's Château hoods add up blower time and flash every indicator together once 30 hours have passed, asking for the grease filters to be washed; the reset is the run-on timer button, not a menu. ### A four-hour automatic shutoff, not an error The same Château hood controller switches itself off after four hours with no button pressed, a safety habit that looks like a stoppage but clears the moment any control is touched. ### Enameled surfaces, not self-clean panels La Cornue's vaulted ovens are wiped and hand-cleaned rather than run through a pyrolytic cycle, so upkeep is about the enamel and the burner heads rather than a catalytic liner. Parts Because each Château is built to order, parts are matched to the configuration on the individual unit's rating plate rather than to a single catalog number, so we record that plate before ordering a filter or a burner part. Repair or replace A La Cornue range or hood is a long-term piece of kitchen equipment, and most of what keeps one running well is the filter and burner care in its own guide; a technician is worth booking mainly when a reminder or a shutoff will not clear on its own. Every 30 hours of accumulated blower running time, signaled by all six indicators flashing together. It is a running-time count, so a busy kitchen sees it sooner than a lightly used one. ### Why did my La Cornue hood turn off in the middle of cooking? If four hours passed without anyone touching a control, the hood's own safety shutoff stepped in. Press the motor button or the remote to start it again. ### Does La Cornue sell cold-storage or dish-care appliances in the US? No. La Cornue's US catalog is ranges, cooktops and the hoods built to go over them, so cold storage and dish care are handled by other makes in the kitchen. ### How is a La Cornue oven cleaned since it has no self-clean cycle? The vaulted enamel interior is wiped by hand, and the burner heads are dried carefully after any wet cleaning, since a damp burner is the most common reason one will not light. --- **[Read on the site: La Cornue Appliance Maintenance](https://appliancemaintenance.center/brands/la-cornue/)** **[Book a visit with ApplianceMaintenance.center](https://appliancemaintenance.center/schedule/)**
