Bertazzoni home appliance display · also shown as Filter icon What to do when Water filter symbol shows on the home appliance ### Kind of code Filters A filter has reached the end of its life or is clogged enough for the appliance to notice: a refrigerator water cartridge past its gallons or months, a hood's grease or charcoal filter loaded with residue, a dish-care filter packed with food, a washer inlet filter choked with grit. The fix is a clean or a new filter of the right part number, fitted with the appliance unplugged and the water closed where there is one, then the reminder reset. ### Usually leads to Water filter and descaling service Fresh filters in dispensers and ice makers, and scale cleared from steam ovens, ice makers and dish care machines. ### Shows up as Water or Ice Tasting Stale: Filter Age, Scale and Idle Lines Water or ice tasting stale is dispenser water, cubes or nugget ice with a flat, musty, chemical or freezer-food taste, often cloudy, slow to come or smaller than it used to be. ### Make Bertazzoni Bertazzoni upkeep is mostly about the range: burner caps and ports, the oven gasket and the hood above, with the matching refrigerator and dishwasher checked in the same trip. ### Source Bertazzoni built-in column installation and use manual Built-in columns (REF18FCBIPRV/PLV, REF24FCBIPNV, REF24RCBPNV, REF30RCBPNV) flash and beep on a counter; RFD36FZNX / RFD36FZNW French door models light at 330 days and flash at 360. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Bertazzoni's own guidance for Water filter symbol on its home appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Replace the filter cartridge following the steps for the specific model, shutting off the water supply where the manual calls for it. 02 Reset the counter: hold SELECT for 5 seconds on the built-in columns, or hold the filter reset button for 3 seconds on the RFD36 French door models. 03 Run water through the dispenser and discard the first batch of ice, since a new cartridge can release air and residue at first. ### Still there? Replace the filter cartridge following the steps for the specific model, shutting off the water supply where the manual calls for it. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why does my Bertazzoni column beep about the filter even though I use the water plug? The counter runs on elapsed time rather than actual filtered use, so it appears on schedule regardless; resetting it with SELECT held for 5 seconds restarts the count. ### My French door Bertazzoni's filter icon is lit but not flashing yet. Do I need a new filter now? The icon lights at 330 days as an early notice; ordering a cartridge at that point and fitting it before the 360-day flashing starts avoids any gap. ### Can an overdue filter make ice cubes smaller? Yes, a worn filter can reduce water flow to the ice maker, which tends to produce thinner cubes until a fresh cartridge and reset restore normal flow. --- **[Read on the site: Bertazzoni: water filter symbol flashing](https://appliancemaintenance.center/error-codes/bertazzoni-ice-water-filter-symbol/)** **[Book a visit with ApplianceMaintenance.center](https://appliancemaintenance.center/schedule/)**
