Water runs through more appliances than most homeowners count: the dispenser and ice maker in the refrigerator door, a standalone ice maker under the counter, a plumbed coffee system, a steam or combination steam oven, the dishwasher and its rinse aid path. Each one handles water in two ways that need upkeep. A filter, where there is one, is a cartridge of carbon that stops working quietly once it is spent, so taste and odor come back well before any light turns red. And wherever water is heated or frozen, the minerals in it are left behind as white or tan scale that narrows passages, coats heaters and slows ice harvests. This service handles both. Filters are replaced with the cartridge that fits the model, the system is flushed until the air and carbon dust are out, and the indicator is reset. Descaling follows the maker's own routine for each appliance and the product it names, whether that is a steam oven's program, an ice maker's clean cycle or a dishwasher treatment.
