What Celebration does
to a home appliance.

Architects Robert A.M. Stern and Jacquelin Robertson designed the master plan, while figures such as Michael Graves and Philip Johnson designed individual downtown buildings, giving the town a deliberately early-20th-century look despite being brand new.

The town's zoning deliberately avoided high-density construction from the outset, and it won the Urban Land Institute's 'New Community of the Year' award in 2001.

Because virtually every home in Celebration was built within a single decade, the town's housing stock shares a narrow age range unlike most of the surrounding metro.

Builder installs sometimes take the shortest route for a dryer exhaust or use a plastic transition hose, and the first maintenance visit in a new house checks that path and swaps anything flimsy for rigid metal.

Family houses

A family house runs its washer, dryer and dishwasher most days, and that steady use fills lint paths, drain filters and dish-care filters faster than the manuals assume, so upkeep there follows how often the machines really run.

When a home appliance
cannot wait in Celebration.

In Celebration as anywhere, these five signs mean upkeep has waited too long and a hazard has started in the home, so the appliance stays off until it is looked at: a hot or burning-lint smell from the laundry, a gas smell at a cooking appliance, a supply hose leaking or bulging, a burning electrical smell, and a breaker that trips when the appliance runs.
