What Westchase does
to a home appliance.
The community is organized into 28 named villages, with its West Park Village section deliberately modeled on the walkable, mixed-use design of historic Hyde Park.
Population nearly doubled between 2000 and 2010, from about 11,100 to almost 21,750 residents, a pace of growth that packed most of the community's housing into two decades.
As of the 2020 census the community counted 10,959 housing units with a 6 percent vacancy rate, and two community development districts, merged in 2011, manage its shared infrastructure.

New houses are built tight, and a kitchen hood and a dryer both pushing air out of a sealed house work harder, so their filters and exhaust paths are kept clean to let them move the air they were rated for.
Family houses
A family keeps up with its appliances more easily when one visit covers them all, and a written list of filter dates, hose ages and small notes helps the household between visits.
Homes that host
Refrigerators and ice makers on a patio or pool deck sit in sun, pollen and blown leaves, so their grilles and coils are cleaned more often than a kitchen unit's, and their gaskets are checked after every hot season.

When a home appliance
cannot wait in Westchase.
In Westchase as anywhere, these five signs mean upkeep has waited too long and a hazard has started in the home, so the appliance stays off until it is looked at: a hot or burning-lint smell from the laundry, a gas smell at a cooking appliance, a supply hose leaking or bulging, a burning electrical smell, and a breaker that trips when the appliance runs.
