Sub-Zero
Appliance Maintenance
A Sub-Zero lasts decades when its condenser is kept clean, its door seals stay supple and its water filter is changed on schedule, and that is what a visit covers.

Sub-Zero home appliances,
specifically.
Sub-Zero's US line is cold storage only — refrigerators, freezers, wine storage and ice makers — and its own use-and-care guides describe a short set of owner-facing maintenance signals: a SERVICE light tied to a dirty condenser, a CLEAN light on ice makers asking for a sanitizing pass, a REPLACE FILTER light on a fixed ice-making cycle count, and a door alarm chime.

All home appliance typesWhat is particular
to Sub-Zero.
We take on Sub-Zero built-in and freestanding refrigerators and freezers, wine storage and undercounter refrigeration, and ice makers; Sub-Zero does not sell cooking, dish-care or laundry appliances in the US — that is Wolf and Cove, its sister brands.
SERVICE means check the condenser first
Sub-Zero's own undercounter guide lists verifying the condenser is clean as the first troubleshooting step when SERVICE is flashing, and calls cleaning the condenser every three to six months a routine task done with a soft brush and a vacuum.
Ice makers reset by touch, not by a part
Sub-Zero's ice maker guide has CLEAN flash to prompt a cleaner-and-sanitizer cycle, and REPLACE FILTER light up red after 8,000 ice-making cycles; both clear with a touch-and-hold on the CLEAN button rather than a service call.
A condenser behind the kickplate
On most Sub-Zero units the condenser sits behind a removable kickplate, and the manual warns to turn power off first and vacuum in the direction of the fins to avoid bending them.
A door alarm that can be switched off
Sub-Zero ships its units with the door alarm active from the factory, chiming after the door has been left ajar for more than 60 seconds, and the same control-panel sequence that turns it off can turn it back on.
Parts
Sub-Zero sells its own ice-maker cleaner, sanitizer and water filters through its own store, and its manual specifically warns against alcohol-based cleaners on interior surfaces, so a visit uses the products the manual names.
Repair or replace
The Sub-Zero maintenance signals documented here — SERVICE tied to a dirty condenser, CLEAN, REPLACE FILTER, and the door alarm — all clear on site without a part; nothing here reaches a repair-or-replace decision.
