A tidy home kitchen with a tall built-in stainless column refrigerator and freezer pair set into light wood cabinetry, the toe grille at floor level removed and leaning against the cabinet, a technician seen only from the shoulders down kneeling on a gray mat and drawing a long soft coil brush out from under the unit, a small canister vacuum beside him, even daylight from a side window.

ASKO
Appliance Maintenance

ASKO upkeep is mostly dish care and laundry: the dishwasher's filter and spray arms, and the washer's drain filter and the dryer's lint and condenser filters.

What is particular
to ASKO.

ASKO's US range covers dishwashers, washers, heat-pump drying machines and a wine climate cabinet; cooking appliances are outside this list.

Two lint filters on the heat-pump model

The heat-pump drying machine has a net filter in the door, emptied after every load, and a foam filter in front of the heat pump that the manual says to clean at least every 10 cycles.

The foam filter stays dry

ASKO's manual asks owners not to rinse the foam filter under the tap, so it is brushed or vacuumed clean instead; a clogged pair of filters can make the machine shut itself off to protect against overheating.

A door without a rubber boot

ASKO's Logic front loader closes on a steel seal rather than the usual rubber gasket, which removes the fold where lint and damp gather on most front loaders.

A cabinet that needs water

The wine climate cabinet keeps its humidity with a HumidityBox that ASKO says to refill about every 30 days, and it raises an alarm when a zone falls to 40 percent humidity.

Parts

The parts an upkeep visit replaces on an ASKO are filters: the dishwasher's coarse and fine filters, the drying machine's net and foam filters, and the wine cabinet's charcoal air filters, which ASKO dates at about twelve months.

Repair or replace

An ASKO that has been kept clean usually earns another round of upkeep rather than replacement; if a drain, heater or inlet message appears, that is a repair, and the visit becomes the repair site's.

Questions about
ASKO home appliances.

How often does the ASKO heat-pump model need its foam filter cleaned?
ASKO's manual says at least every 10 drying cycles, or sooner if it looks full; the door net filter is emptied after every load.
Can the foam filter go under the tap?
No. ASKO asks owners not to rinse it, to keep microplastic out of the drain, so it is brushed or vacuumed dry and put back.
Why does the ASKO wine cabinet beep about humidity?
The alarm starts when a zone drops to 40 percent humidity; refilling the HumidityBox, which ASKO puts at roughly once a month, is the usual answer.
Does an ASKO front loader need its door gasket cleaned?
The Logic models close on a steel seal with no rubber boot, so there is no fold to clean; the drum and the drain pump filter still need their routine.
