What to do when Drain pump filter cleaning shows on the home applianceKind of codeWater, fill and drain
Water is arriving too slowly or leaving too slowly, and the cause is usually something that collects over time: a washer drain filter holding lint, coins and hair, a dishwasher sump filter full of food, inlet screens clogged with grit from the supply, or too much detergent leaving suds the machine cannot rinse. Clear the filter over a tray with the machine unplugged, check that the supply valves are fully open, run a cleaning cycle, and book a visit if the hose itself leaks or bulges.

The door boot, drain filter, detergent drawer and fill hoses on the washer cleaned and checked, and the machine leveled.
Shows up asLaundry Drum Smelling Musty: Door Boot, Drain Filter and Detergent
A laundry drum smelling musty gives off a damp, sour or mildew odor when the door opens, and passes it on to clean clothes, towels and the laundry room itself.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from LG's own guidance for Drain pump filter cleaning on its home appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Turn off the washer and unplug it before opening the service panel.
Open the service panel at the bottom-left corner and unclip the drain hose to drain remaining water into a shallow pan.
Twist the pump filter counter-clockwise to remove it, then clean it with a soft-bristle brush and warm water.
Reinstall the filter, hose and panel, and check for leaks before running a full cycle.

What not to do
A dirty pump filter causes leaking or poor drainage over time, but it is not the same as a failed drain pump or control board; cleaning the filter — not replacing a part — is LG's documented fix.
