A filter has reached the end of its life or is clogged enough for the appliance to notice: a refrigerator water cartridge past its gallons or months, a hood's grease or charcoal filter loaded with residue, a dish-care filter packed with food, a washer inlet filter choked with grit. The fix is a clean or a new filter of the right part number, fitted with the appliance unplugged and the water closed where there is one, then the reminder reset.

Remove and wash the grease filters as usual.
Fit new charcoal filters from the kit listed for the specific KG model; they cannot be washed and reused.
With everything back in place, hold button B for about five seconds until the display stops flashing.
Book a visit if the alternating C and F pattern returns within a few days.

What not to do
This reminder is only relevant on a hood set up to recirculate air; a ducted hood has no charcoal filters to change. A steady C with the motor off is a different message, the hood's clean-air mode, not a filter request.
